Vyshyvanka

Chinese ink on paper

9 artworks, 22,5x22,5cm each, 2022 | ongoing series

Patterns were always a subject of my works, I liked to explore their repetitive and ethnic aesthetics, in combination with the cold and deep black color of Chinese ink.

The new series of works is inspired by traditional Ukrainian patterns that are usually embroidered on clothes and are traditionally called Vyshyvanka. I explore the patterns in my style with thousands of lines, shades of black, and reflections of light.
