Josh Baer, well-known curator and art journalist, once said that the main art movement of our days is called Art Market. This letter is focused on the fact of selling and creating of the most attractive commodity. Art seems to drive back to its initial state - applied art. Millions of artworks are produced, side by side with objects of everyday use, decorated, in their turn, with unique artworks.
DYWWA asks questions about limits of commerce, art and popularization.
How far are we ready to go with trasnmitting artworks on objects of everyday use?
How far our desire to surround ourselves with art may reach and how UNIQUE do we want to feel, while surrounding ourselves with artworks and while wearing them?
DYWWA presents art which is maximally close to a person, both physically and emotionally. It’s both underwear and original work of art: with a handmade print, individual number and artist’s signature. While looking at it and mentally triing it on, answer this question:
Do You Want to Wear an Artwork?
